Lady Hawks Tennis Sweeps 2026 FCSAA State Championship

The Hillsborough College (HC) Lady Hawks tennis team won the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Region 8 State Championship on Friday, April 17, at the Tejas Pradip Patel HC Tennis Center. The team will compete in the 2026 National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s Tennis Championship on May 2–6, in Sumter, South Carolina.

“I am so proud of this team for the hard work they put in to claim another FCSAA title,” said Sarah Lytle, HC athletic director and head tennis coach. “Our sophomore class has been full of strong leaders and has set the tone for this year. We are excited for the privilege of competing for another NJCAA national title and hope to make the Hillsborough College community proud.”

During the tournament, HC swept St. Petersburg College, by winning all six singles flights and all three doubles flights.

Flight winners included:

  • Flight 1 singles – Younsoo Cho
  • Flight 2 singles – Salomea Jasiczek
  • Flight 3 singles – Sydney Stark
  • Flight 4 singles – Noah Rojas
  • Flight 5 singles – Aisulu Zholbolat
  • Flight 6 singles – Emily Lederer
  • Flight 1 doubles – Stark and Cho
  • Flight 2 doubles – Rojas and Zholbolat
  • Flight 3 doubles – Lederer and Jasiczek

Lytle was recognized as the 2026 FCSAA Coach of the Year for the sixth consecutive year. Younsoo Cho was also honored as the 2026 FCSAA Player of the Year.
