Hillsborough College is pleased to announce honors students Arturo Aliaga, Melissa Fethiere, Lys Guevara, Isabella Marques, Leonardo Ospina Campos and alumna Dannyelle Philip as semifinalists for the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.

This year, 485 semifinalists were chosen from more than 1,300 applicants attending 224 community colleges nationwide. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation evaluated each submission based on students’ academic ability and achievement, perseverance and leadership.

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship enables recipients to complete their bachelor’s degrees debt-free at any accredited four-year college or university in the United States. The award provides up to $55,000 per year for two to three years in last-dollar funding, helping remove financial barriers for high-achieving students transferring to top institutions. The recipients will be announced in May.
