Hillsborough College District Board of Trustees to Consider New Fees for Summer 2026

The Hillsborough College (HC) District Board of Trustees will consider new program fees at its February meeting. The proposed fees are limited to covering costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. The new fees, if approved, would go into effect in the summer of 2026.

The Board of Trustees’ meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. at the HC Plant City Campus, located at 1206 N. Park Rd, Plant City, FL 33563. Comments on the new fees may be sent to trustees@hccfl.edu and will be shared during the meeting.

AGENDA ITEM 6.XX – APPROVAL OF COURSE FEE EFFECTIVE SUMMER 2026 [NON-CONSENT] – This new fee was reviewed and if approved by the Board, will go into effect summer 2026. The proposed fee increase is due to the increased costs of consumable lab materials. Fees collected for courses are limited to covering the costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. All fee proceeds will be used to pay for student educational supplies.

Architectural Design and Construction: The proposed new fee covers the costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. The increased student fee is required to cover increased costs of consumable student lab materials as listed below. The current fee for the two classes is $20 per student, and the proposed new fee is $25 per class or $50 total for both.

ARC 1301 Architectural Design I – The current fee is $10 per student. The proposed new fee is $25/student. The student fee is for student educational lab supplies.

 ARC 1302 Architectural Design II – The current fee is $10 per student. The proposed new fee is $25/student. The student fee is for student educational lab supplies.

Radiography: The proposed suspension in lab fees is due to upgrades in technology. As a result, x-ray film and developing chemicals are no longer needed. The proposed new fee is $0 per student. The elimination of these fees will save $450 per student.

RTC 1418L Principals of Radiography Exposure I Lab – The current fee is $60. The proposed new fee is $0/student.
