Hillsborough Community College District Board of Trustees to Consider New Nursing Program Fees for Fall 2025

Tampa, Fla. - The HCC District Board of Trustees will consider new program fees at their February meeting. The proposed fees are limited to covering costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. The new fees, if approved, would go into effect in the fall of 2025.

 

The Board of Trustees’ meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. on the Plant City Campus. Comments on the new fees may be sent to trustees@hccfl.edu and will be shared during the meeting.

 

 

AGENDA ITEM 6.03 – APPROVAL OF COURSE FEES EFFECTIVE Fall 2025 [NON-CONSENT] – These fees were reviewed and if approved by the board, will go into effect Fall 2025. The purpose of the proposed decreasing, increasing and new fees are limited to covering costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. All fee proceeds listed will be used to pay consumable lab materials and lab personnel costs.

 

Registered Nursing AS Degree: The proposed lab fee covers the costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. The nursing program is going from 16-week courses to 8-week courses to allow for a year-round schedule which will significantly increase enrollment and allow students to drop in and out of the program increasing retention and completion. The fees for all the existing nursing courses were reviewed and recalculated, and new course fees were determined. The request is to slightly increase the course fees of one course, decrease the fees of six courses, and add eight new fees for the new courses. Total program fees would be increased slightly from $1,502 to $1,581 per student. That is an increase of $79 per student for the entire nursing degree program

 

NUR 1310C – The current course lab fee is $191. The proposed modified lab fee is $106 per student/semester. The fee for this course is being reduced by $85 per student.
