Hillsborough College (HC) is proud to announce that student, Christian Macias Arguello, has been selected as an inaugural 2025 Chime Workforce Scholar. He is one of only 200 students nationwide to receive the honor and will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential and career readiness.
The Chime Workforce Scholarship, provided by the Chime Scholars Foundation, recognizes high-achieving college students who are pursuing career and technical educational opportunities. It awards $200,000 in scholarships to 200 students who are enrolled in workforce development programs across the country. The funds help students offset both traditional education expenses and costs specific to entering the workforce, such as certification fees, uniforms and tools.
“At the Chime Scholars Foundation, we believe that career and technical education opens doors to financial progress and long-term opportunity,” said Jeni Izuel, president of the Chime Scholars Foundation. “We’re proud to support students who are working hard to gain in-demand skills and build better futures for themselves and their families.”
Hillsborough College serves more than 48,000 students annually at its five campuses located throughout Tampa Bay. For more information, visit hccfl.edu.
