Nineteen HCC Student Athletes Earn National Academic Recognition

(TAMPA, Fla.) – The National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) selected 19 Hillsborough Community College student athletes for its 2021-22 All-Academic First, Second and Third Teams. These honorees garnered recognition by achieving a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

All Academic First Team:

-       Arina Gamretkaia (Women’s Tennis)

-       Pia Mohr (Volleyball)

-       Drew Pope (Softball)

-       Svenja Rodenbuesch (Volleyball)

All-Academic Second Team:

-       Esmee Andresen (Women’s Tennis)

-       Elena Bullemer (Volleyball)

-       Alice Munari (Volleyball)

-       Helena Scholze Hoffman (Volleyball)

All-Academic Third Team:

-       Agata Bogdaska (Volleyball)

-       Matthew Dadlani (Baseball)

-       Courtney Killick (Softball)

-       Raelin McAllister (Softball)

-       Landen Morrison (Baseball)

-       Janna Morrissey (Volleyball)

-       Ana Oro (Volleyball)

-       Jerome Palm (Men’s Basketball)

-       Rachel Tanner (Softball)

-       Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya (Women’s Tennis)

-       Olivia Pezo (Women’s Tennis)

For criteria, student athletes eligible for selection for the All-Academic First Team achieved a 4.00 GPA. Those recognized on the Second Team achieved a 3.80-3.99 GPA, and the Third Team honorees achieved a 3.60-3.79 GPA.

“It is exciting to see our student athletes excel both athletically and academically,” said Sarah Lytle, HCC athletics director. “They have a rigorous schedule that combines a full-time academic load and 20 hours of practice and competition every week, so many of our students achieving high GPAs is rewarding.”
