(TAMPA, Fla., 10/5/22) – On September 23, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded Hillsborough Community College $50,000 as a part of $1.9 million given to support entrepreneurship education and training programs at eight state colleges and 17 school districts across the state.
This funding will help students learn about how to run a small business and connect them with available opportunities in their area. The awards will create and support programs at colleges, high schools and middle schools. These awards are through the Perkins V Entrepreneurship Education and Training Grant (EET), which is designed to help grow entrepreneurship-related initiatives across the state's career and technical education (CTE) programs. Since 2020, $5.5 million has been awarded to 45 individual institutions.
