Hillsborough Community College Announces 2022 Champions of Diversity

(TAMPA, Fla., 11/18/22) – Hillsborough Community College’s Office of Equity and Diversity along with the HCC Diversity Council have recognized this year’s Champions of Diversity at an awards ceremony held at the Ybor City Campus,
Friday, November 18.

Those recognized include:

Exemplary Administrator – Dr. Paige Niehaus

Exemplary Staff – Michelle Monteleon

Exemplary Faculty – Dr. Carol Reid

Exemplary Student Organization – SouthShore SGA

Exemplary Corporate Partner – Tampa General Hospital

The Champions of Diversity Awards recognize outstanding administrators, faculty, staff, student organizations and corporate partners as unsung heroes who have made exceptional efforts and contributions in the area of equity and diversity. Nominations are solicited each fall from faculty, staff, administrators and currently enrolled students.

A Diversity Awards Selection committee comprised of campus representatives from across the college district reviewed and scored all nominations. The highest scoring nominee from each category was selected as the winner of their respective category. The Exemplary Corporate Partner is selected by the HCC Foundation based on their work in the community and partnership with the College.

This year’s awards breakfast was sponsored by Suncoast Credit Union. Attendees heard from keynote, Santiago Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay.
