New President of Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry Campus Selected

Dr. Paige Niehaus brings 30 years of higher education expertise as the next HCC Dale Mabry Campus president.

(TAMPA, Fla., 05/27/21) - Dr. Paige Niehaus of Wayne County Community College District has joined Hillsborough Community College (HCC) as the Dale Mabry Campus president. Dr. Niehaus succeeds Dr. Allen Witt who will retire after serving 14 years at the College, with his last three stewarding the Dale Mabry Campus. 

 

A committee comprised of HCC faculty, staff, administrators and community representatives conducted a nationwide search for qualified candidates, narrowing down the list through several rounds of interviews and open campus forums for the final four candidates. HCC President Dr. Ken Atwater made the final selection.

 

“Her energy and enthusiasm for the Dale Mabry Campus, its faculty, staff and students, as well as the innovative ideas, spirit of collaboration and commitment to creating a supportive teaching and learning environment that she would bring to the college overall, distinguished her during the search process,” said Dr. Atwater. “The feedback from the campus and cabinet forums validated as much.”

With three decades in combined higher education administration, Dr. Niehaus’ extensive professional background includes a progression of leadership positions at Wayne County Community College District, including associate provost; provost, Ted Scott Campus; executive director, design center; provost for strategic initiative and executive director, design center; and executive vice chancellor and chief innovative officer.

 

A graduate of Joliet Junior College herself, Dr. Niehaus served the college in the roles of registration specialist, employment and training coordinator, workforce skills manager, workforce services manager and workforce development director.

 

Dr. Niehaus will assume her position on July 1, 2021.
