NJCAA Selects 20 HCC Students for National All-Academic Recognition

(TAMPA, Fla., 07/26/21) – Twenty Hillsborough Community College student athletes were selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) 2020-21 Academic First, Second and Third Teams. These individuals garnered recognition by achieving a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

All-Academic First Team:

-        Raelin McAllister (Softball)

-        Valeria Rodriguez (Women’s Tennis)

-        Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya (Women’s Tennis)

All-Academic Second Team:

-        Arianna Andrade (Softball)

-        Ella Berg (Women’s Basketball)

-        Alex Curtis (Volleyball)

-        Isadora Marcondes de Oliveira (Women’s Tennis)

-        Ana Oro (Volleyball)

-        Olivia Pezo (Women’s Tennis)

All-American Third Team:

-        Nadine Burbrink (Volleyball)

-        Ana Villalvazo Farrera (Women’s Tennis)

-        Andy Antoine (Men’s Basketball)

-        Sydney Haley (Volleyball)

-        Madison Horak (Women’s Basketball)

-        Savannah (Softball)

-        Emily Longoria (Softball)

-        Chloe Melis (Volleyball)

-        Rylee Moorman (Softball)

-        Diana Rivera-Nelson (Women’s Basketball)

-        Michael Schuler (Baseball)

 

For criteria, student athletes eligible for selection for the NJCAA All-Academic First Team achieved a 4.00 GPA. Those recognized on the Second Team achieved a 3.80-3.99 GPA, and the Third Team honorees achieved a 3.60-3.79 GPA.

HCC Athletic Director, Sarah Summerfield says, “The department of athletics is very proud of the student athletes who were able to garner this academic achievement. Earning a 3.6 or higher GPA while also meeting the challenging demands of collegiate sport is an outstanding feat.”
