Lady Hawks Tennis Named Female Academic Team of the Year

(TAMPA, Fla.) – The Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Lady Hawks Tennis team has been recognized by the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) as the Female Academic Team of the Year with a team GPA of 3.74.

“This team always works hard on and off the court, so this recognition is very well deserved,” HCC Athletic Director and tennis coach Sarah Summerfield said.

The team members that contributed to this award are Nathany Valeria Rodriguez, Isadora Marcondes de Oliveira, Magda Tuells, Ana Villalvazo-Farrera, Viktoryia Zhadzinksiaya, Mbali Langa, Olivia Pezo and Lungile Ntuli.

The FCSAA selects male and female academic teams with small (10 or fewer participants) and large (11+ participants) rosters. The Lady Hawks team was recognized for having 10 or fewer participants.

According to the FCSAA, nominees must have accumulated 48 credit hours with a minimum 3.30 GPA and completed at least three full-time terms at a FCSAA institution. Citizenship, community service and athletic prowess were also factors in consideration.

All awards were voted on by the Council for Athletic Affairs Executive Board.
