Tampa – The HCC District Board of Trustees will consider a new program fee and a lab fee increase at their February meeting. The proposed fees are limited to covering costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. The new fees, if approved, would go into effect in fall of 2021.
The Board of Trustees’ meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 24, at 4:00 p.m. at the Dr. Gwendolyn Stephenson District Administration Center, Board Room, 39 Columbia Drive, Tampa, FL 33606. Comments on the new fees may be sent to trustees@hccfl.edu and will be shared during the meeting.
AGENDA ITEM 6.01 – APPROVAL OF COURSE FEES EFFECTIVE FALL 2021 [NON-CONSENT] – These fees were reviewed and if approved by the Board, will go into effect fall 2021. The purpose of the proposed new and increasing fees are limited to covering costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. All fee proceeds listed will be used to pay consumable lab materials and supplies, equipment maintenance, instructional materials, books and safety equipment costs.
Advanced Welding Technology: The proposed fees cover the costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. This new Career Certificate program is being added to the Workforce Training Center as a result of analysis that clearly identified employer needs in the community. Student fees are required for consumable lab materials and supplies, equipment maintenance, instructional materials, books and safety equipment. Total student fees for the Advanced Welding Technology certificate program are $3,508 per student.
PMT 0075 Advanced Welder 1 – The proposed fee is $2,806 per student/semester. Student fees are for consumable lab supplies, equipment maintenance, instructional materials, books, and safety equipment.

Architectural Design and Construction Technology: The proposed fees cover the costs incurred by the College and will not generate a profit. Student fees are required for consumable lab supplies used in daily class manual drafting assignments at the Dale Mabry Campus. Total student fees for the course are $10 per student.
