This exhibition will be on display January 21–March 5, 2020. Kalup Linzy (b. 1977, Clermont, FL) is an internationally recognized video and performance artist whose work examines gender, sexuality, identity politics, and popular culture through the tropes of daytime soap operas and reality television. Relations: Discord, Melodrama, and the Intimate in the work of Kalup Linzy surveys nearly 20 years of the artist’s episodic video works alongside related works on paper, chronicling the ties, conflicts, and drama of the extended Queen Rose family.

Programs are made possible in part by the support of HCC Student Activities/Service Fees and the HCC Dale Mabry Campus Student Government Association. Additional support for this exhibition comes from the Bailey Family Foundation, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Jug & Bottle Dept., and the HCC Foundation. Gallery221@HCC is also a proud partner of the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival. Relations will be featured with the Festival as an event called “Living History.”
