Hillsborough Community College Hires Dr. David Ross as New Student Services Dean

Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. David Ross as the new dean of student services at the Ybor City Campus.  Dr. Ross worked previously for Broward College as an associate dean for academic affairs and officially joined the HCC community on July 1.

“Dr. Ross is a welcome addition to Hillsborough Community College,” said Dr. Shawn Robinson, Ybor City Campus president. “We look forward to leveraging his vast student development and retention expertise to expand learning opportunities for the citizens served by the Ybor City Campus.” 

As dean of student services, Dr. Ross will be responsible for all student services functions, to include enrollment services, counseling, advising, career resource center, disability services, test center, admissions and student life. 

Dr. Ross has researched and presented at conferences throughout his career on the topics of student test performance, student retention, organizational politics and the first-year student experience.

Dr. Ross holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Walden University, and both a Master of Arts degree in counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin from Montclair State University.

Additionally, Dr. Ross holds memberships in the Golden Key Honor Society, Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, National Association for Admissions Counseling, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the National Association of Developmental Education.
