Hillsborough Community College (HCC) adjunct welding instructor and artist, Jason Shiver, will head to Shanghai, China to unveil his show Transcendence in March 2017.

Shiver has spent the last year in Shanghai implementing Disney Imagineers design plans and ensuring the quality building of Disney’s newest park, Shanghai Disneyland. Embedded in a sea of cultural creativity, Shiver embraced the Shanghainese way of life and created a new work which was accepted into the Disney art show in Shanghai.

Shiver’s body of work also caught the eye of Tokyo Pan Gallery, whose connections to Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo have changed the game for this long-standing Florida artist. Shiver has been invited to display his paintings and sculptures at the Tokyo Pan Gallery for a month and a half with potential for visiting additional cities throughout China and Japan.

In the meantime, Shiver continues to teach and inspire his welding students at HCC while finishing up pieces to be included in the Shanghai show. You can see view some of Jason’s work here.

Transcendence will be on display at the Tokyo Pan Gallery in Shanghai from Saturday, March 25, 2017 through Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
