Casper, Wyoming - Hillsborough Community College's Lady Hawks Volleyball team finished 3rd after defeating Northwest College at the the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) National Volleyball Championship Tournament in Casper, Wyoming.  The Lady Hawks entered the national tournament ranked #5 in the nation.

"I couldn't be more proud of these players as they have come so far,” stated Gary Larkin, HCC volleyball head coach.  “It has been an honor to compete on this stage. In an event like this where every team is a national power, sometimes the ball doesn't always bounce your way, but it'll never diminish what we achieved together and the memories made along the way."

Individual accolades were extended to Cherlie Adorno DeJesus and Erika Zembyla, who were named to the All-Tournament Team. In addition to finishing 3rd at the national tournament, the Lady Hawks were crowned the 2015 FCSAA State Champions on November 8, and the 2015 Suncoast Conference Champions on October 23.  The team ends the season with a record of 34-6.

Hillsborough Community College serves over 45,000 students annually at its five campuses located throughout Tampa Bay.  The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
