HCC Dental Hygiene Students Secure 100% Pass Rate on National Board Exam

Tampa - Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is pleased to announce that students from the dental hygiene program have secured a 100% pass rate on the National Board Exam. This year’s graduating class consists of 15 students who have completed the five-semester program.     

The National Board Exam is a comprehensive, all-day exam administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations.  The exam consists of 350 multiple-choice examination items and is comprised of two components: 200 discipline-based items and 150 case-based items.

The HCC dental hygiene program began in 2003 and is based at the Dale Mabry Campus.  The program admits 15 students each year and has graduated a total of 12 classes since the program’s inception.

Hillsborough Community College serves over 45,000 students annually at its five campuses located throughout Tampa Bay.  The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
